Why Does Winnipeg Hate Rob Lowe? He Hated Them First.
Rob Lowe was trying to be funny when he sent out an unfortunate tweet about Winnipeg, Canada while shooting a movie. Winnipeg was not amused.
Lowe is in Canada shooting a movie based on the Casey Anthony story. (I’m guessing made for TV movie? The Casey Anthony story has tv movie written all over it.) He was innocently watching the NBA finals in a local Winnipeg bar. But then something happened – check out his tweet that tells the story.
Wait – did he just call all of Winnipeg a hellhole? Or just the bar? No matter… it was rude enough to case a firestorm on twitter. The response was swift and angry. Check out some of the harsh tweets HERE. They ‘go’ everywhere from telling him to leave town, judging his ‘level’ of celebrity, and even suggesting he get get robbed, or worse yet, stabbed. In short, they didn’t take it well.
Lowe must have seen the error of his tweet, because short of sending an apology, he clarified his pain, via a tweet about the bar itself.
Like most celebrity dramas, this too shall pass. The lesson? One we’ve seen countless times before: Think before you tweet!
