Despite police warnings, Madonna, who never met a publicity stunt she didn’t like – ignored a ban and waved fake machine guns and pistols on stage at her concert in Scotland on Saturday.

Just a day after tragedy at a showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” that left 12 dead and a total of 71 people sprayed with bullets, Madonna could be seen dancing around with fake pistols and plastic machine guns.

Madge had been warned not to to use the guns as stage props during the show by Scottish authorities – she even joked while performing that she may be cut off after doing so –  due to Scotland’s gun laws – instituted after the Dunblane massacre in 1996.

A rep for Mothers Against Guns, voiced their outrage: “Madonna and her dancers using replica guns was always in bad taste but given what happened in Colorado it is even worse.”

That said, the material girl is sticking to her guns, literally and figuratively – calling any change to her creative vision a form of copping out to censorship.

A member of her tour staff told HuffPost’s Rob Shuter: “Madonna would rather cancel her show than censor her art … Her entire career, she has fought against people telling her what she can and cannot do. She’s not about to start listening to them now.”
