This is class…

Actor Christian Bale, the real man behind the Batman mask, made his way to Aurora, Colorado yesterday to visit the victims of the tragic movie theater shooting that took place last week.

Trying to stay under the radar, Bale showed up at the hospital with little advanced notice, visiting with survivors, and thanking the medical staff and police for all their help.

Janie Bowman-Hayes, assistant vice president of surgical services at sister hospital Swedish Medical Center, said she and her co-workers didn’t even know Bale was coming:

“When we got there, then we found out he was there…He just said he wanted to come to thank all of us because he has been thinking about this. He knows the whole world has been thinking about this…He took it upon himself to come and thank us.”

Bowman-Hayes said that no matter what any skeptics would say, she truly believes the trip was out of the goodness of Bale’s heart, and nothing more:

“He did this out of his heart, and you could really tell. It was so sincere…It was just, ‘thank you.'”

Bale also stopped by the makeshift memorial that was created near the theater to pay his respects to the 12 people that were killed in the attacks.  He walked among the twelve erected crosses silently, with all surrounding fans and mourners leaving him be.

Bale previously issued a written statement saying: “Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.”
