Robert Downey Jr Injured On Set, IRON MAN 3 Production Halted

It is being reported today that Robert Downey Jr. has been injured on the set of IRON MAN 3, forcing the studio to halt production.

It is being reported today that Robert Downey Jr. has been injured on the set of IRON MAN 3, forcing the studio to halt all production.

Marvel Studios released an official statement this morning, saying:

“Robert Downey Jr sustained an ankle injury on the set of ‘Iron Man 3’ in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates.”

Luckily, the injury doesn’t sound too horrible, but hopefully, all will be back up and running soon and Downey will be fine to keep going.

IRON MAN 3, the first film in Marvel’s Phase Two, is directed by Shane Black and co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce.  It is set to hit theaters on May 3rd, 2013.
