R. Kelly Has 85 Chapters Of “Trapped In The Closet” Ready To Go, Wants To Bring It To Broadway!

Whether you can handle it or not, get ready to get trapped in the closet at least 85 more times!

Whether you can handle it or not, get ready to get trapped in the closet at least 85 more times!

In front of a packed house at the Sunshine Theater last night, R&B singer R. Kelly debuted some brand new chapters from his hit (an albeit crazy) video opera, “Trapped In The Closet.”  And just in case the midgets, the STDs, and the crazy affairs between guys, girls, and everyone else in between weren’t enough for you, Kelly made an announcement that a lot more was coming!

“I want everybody to know I’ve got 85 chapters of ‘Trapped in the Closet’ waiting in the studio for y’all…The chapters that are coming — the show, we call it — is going to exceed every chapter that you have ever seen.”

But just in case you were yearning for me (who WOULDN’T be?!), you can also look forward to seeing Sylvester, Pimp Lucius and all the rest in a way that you’ve never seen them before: on Broadway!

“To transform it into a Broadway version, that’s what I’m working on.”

But why in hell are so many new chapters coming up?  Kelly says that without a real job, working on these entries is the most fun he’s had in a long while:

“I’m just having a lot of fun. I don’t have a job, so I sit in the studio all day and think of stuff to do and this is just something stupid I’ve done that’s been successful for me…I’m having a lot of fun with it.”

Get ready to make your drinking games now…The newest entries of “Trapped In The Closet” will premiere on IFC this Friday.

And for old times sake, let’s go all the way back to the beginning…
