Report: Darth Vader to Return For New STAR WARS Trilogy

Darth Vader was dead at the end of RETURN OF THE JEDI, right?? Wrong…At least according to Disney…

I know that film is a magical medium and excuses can always be conjured up to undo previous moments, but I think we can all agree that Darth Vader was dead at the end of RETURN OF THE JEDI.  I mean, the guy had his mask taken off, was electrocuted and cremated, and even showed up in floaty ghost form next to Yoda and Obi-Wan!  That’s one hell of a definite answer that can’t be undone, right??

Wrong…At least according to Disney…

UK’s Express is reporting that despite all the moments listed above, Disney plans to resurrect Darth Vader for the upcoming trilogy.  Sources for the paper say,

“[Darth Vader is] an integral part of the franchise…Replacing him is virtually impossible. The plan is for him to return and play a significant role in the new films…Darth Vader will rise from the ashes.”

So in other words…Disney isn’t going to lose money by not having everyone’s favorite space baddie involved in the new trilogy…

STAR WARS EPISODE VII is set to hit theaters Summer 2015.
