Is Warner Bros. Not Confident In MAN OF STEEL?

The WB is creating a contingency plan for it's DC product, just in case MAN OF STEEL fails at the box office.

mos_glyph_hiresOver the past few weeks, Warner Brothers has seemed less then confident in their Super Man Reboot MAN OF STEEL. While the trailers have been very good, and the excitement level from the fan base has been very high, WB is creating a contingency plan just in case the movie bombs at the box office. In Fact, according to Worstpreviews.com they have a contingency plan for every situation. Including, if MAN OF STEEL does well at the box office, the plan is to complete a Superman trilogy over the next 7-8 years. No matter how great the reviews, if MAN OF STEEL bombs at the box office, Warner Bros will make a Batman reboot it’s priority putting everything else on the back burner. You can’t blame Warner Brothers for being skeptical considering GREEN LANTERN was a box office and critical bust and the last Superman movie brought in less then stellar box office. Yet it’s also hard to believe in a DARK KNIGHT age that WB can be that worried about MAN OF STEEL failing, considering they have attached a monster cast, a great director and help from both Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer, the architects of the DARK KNIGHT franchise. The biggest news in this all is from the sound of it a JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA movie is not the priority of Warner Brothers at this time. Which means they could be taking the Marvel approach of creating a few character films before going into the big one.  So either Warner Brothers is not confident in MAN OF STEEL or they are just being cautious, either way it’s not a good sign for fans looking forward to a Justice League film right away.
