Katie Holmes’ return to Broadway is not going as she might have hoped…

Access Hollywood is reporting that the recently divorced starlet’s new play, “Dead Accounts,” will close on January 6th, nearly two months earlier than planned.

Media reports say that the show, which opened to poor reviews, is earning only a fraction of what producers were hoping for.

Its full run will be for 27 previews and 44 performances.

Holmes made her Broadway debut in the 2008 production of “All My Sons.” She was married to Tom Cruise from 2006 until earlier this year.
