Chrissy Metz has a thing to say to the critics who believe they know what she should and should not wear.

The “This Is Us” star has a “10 percent black” rule for red carpet looks – in other words, she doesn’t fall back on the ‘black is slimming’ adage that – face it – we all have called upon no matter what our size now and then.  No stranger to color, prints or styles, she is a great role model for dressing confidently for women of all sizes. So when she showed up at Sunday’s MTV Movie & TV Awards in a custom latex dress, she turned heads with the look.

Of course, because it’s easy to hate when you’re an anonymous internet commenter, some f0lks deicede to points. But Metz wasn’t having it – using twitter to make sure she made her point, (and did so quite eloquently.)

According to People, the look was one she had been planning with her stylist Jordan Grossman for close to a year, and with no appropriate event to wear it to previously (the Oscars or even the Golden Globes don’t have the edge necessary to really make this kind of splash) she went for it for the MTV event.

Well done, and lookin’ fierce, Chrissy!
