Gilbert Gottfried Dumped By AFLAC For Idiotic, Insensitive Tweets

After a series of tasteless tweets about the Tsunami in Japan, Aflac Inc. has fired Gilbert Gottfried, the abrasive voice of the insurer’s quacking duck.

Ironically, Aflac does the majority of its business in Japan. The company is donating more than a million US dollars to the International Red Cross to help with disaster assistance.

The company’s CEO Michael Zuna said: “There is no place for anything but compassion and concern during these difficult times.”

Gottfried, who isn’t exactly swimming in work at the moment, found steady cashflow from the commercials… but now the company is looking to cast his replacement. Meanwhile, he has removed the tweets from his Twitter page. (Ahem, nice try… they’re already saved everywhere, including here…)
