Monday was supposed to be a special day for Lady Gaga and Amazon.com. Their one-day, 99-cent promotion of Lady Gaga’s album “Born This Way” was groundbreaking. At a full 11 dollars less than the price of buying it on iTunes, it seemed a win both for music lovers and the site itself.

But Amazon flooded. By early afternoon, the site’s servers were on a total meltdown, causing delays and customer angst.

Amazon went on Twitter guaranteeing that folks who ordered today would indeed get the discount price.
