Actress, comedienne and longtime Soap opera fan Carol Burnett will return to All My Children before the series signs off this fall.

Burnett will reprise her role as Verla Grubbs for multiple episodes in September.  Burnett’s character first appeared on the soap in 1983 as the long-lost daughter of Langley Wallingford. A fan of the show for years, Burnett returned to the drama in 1995 for AMC’s 25th anniversary and in 2005 for its 35th birthday.

Several other stars are returning to the serial before it shuts down, including Josh Duhamel, and Eva La Rue.

Here’s a clip from Burnett on the show in 1984, which also happens to feature Elizabeth Taylor!
