Bette Midler Calls Out Lady Gaga On Twitter!
After performing onstage dressed as a mermaid and riding in a wheelchair, Lady Gaga received a gentle reminder from Bette Midler that she had done it first. After getting no response, she issued a less gentle reminder.
On Midler’s Twitter page. the entertainer first said “I’m not sure @ladygaga knows that I’ve performed my mermaid in a wheelchair for millions of people — and many of them still alive.” A harmless acknowledgement with a sense of humor. Midler even brought back the character in her recent concert tour. (then, below that, the Gaga video)
Anyhoo… while imitation is the sincerest form of flattery… when the tweet was met with no response from Gaga, Midler gave it another try..
Midler and Gaga might have reconciled… again judging from the Twitter activity. Midler recently tweeted, “@ladygaga let’s drink this over at the Emmys in September. Fabulous mermaids can coexist!”
