Can Blockbuster ACTUALLY Be Making a Comeback to Kick Netflix’s Behind?! Check it Out!

So, I think we can all agree that Netflix is totally destroying itself.  Quikster?  I’m sorry, but I think we should see other movie rental services…

Well it seems like Blockbuster and Dish Network are taking full advantage of the public’s angst towards Netflix by unveiling their own creation: Blockbuster Movie Pass!

That’s right…As of Feb. 1, 2012, for only $10 a month on top of Dish’s service fee, subscribers can access Blockbuster Movie Pass, an “unmatched” service that Dish calls “the most comprehensive TV entertainment programming package ever delivered by a multichannel pay TV provider.”

The terms include free mail delivery (with no extra charge for Blu-ray) of up to three discs, unlimited streaming to TVs and PCs, the option to exchange an unlimited number of DVDs and games at Blockbuster stores, and 20 premium channels on Dish.

At a roll-out event in San Francisco, Dish CEO Joe Clayton said that while Netflix and other sites like it (Hulu, Amazon, etc) are doing great, “we’re gonna do a great job at all of the above.” AND from Oct. 1 2011 through Jan. 31, 2012, Dish Network is offering new customers one-year of Blockbuster Movie Pass FREE ($120) for signing a two-year contract.

Sounds great and like everything Netflix should still be, and for the first time, I see a little life in the dead horse that I thought was Blockbuster.  But the question is…would YOU switch to Dish Network to get all of that?
