37-year-old E! host Giuliana Rancic returned to host E! News Tuesday night – exactly two weeks after undergoing a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery to fight breast cancer.

After getting the go-ahead from doctors, Rancic returned to the show, which she co-hosts with Ryan Seacrest, to talk the latest showbiz news. She tells E! Online. “Even though I moved a tad slower than usual today, everyone welcomed me back with open arms and it was a wonderful homecoming.”

Rancic had previously undergone a double lumpectomy coupled with radiation, but the conservative treatment hadn’t been effective. She decided to move forward with the double mastectomy to avoid major radiation treatments that would have complicated having children, telling NBC’s Today that it “means two to five years of medication that basically puts me into early menopause.”

Cancer usually recurs within less than 1 percent of those who undergo a double mastectomy
