John Mayer Once Serenaded a Woman With “50 Shades of Grey”

Oh John Mayer…did you really have to stoop so low?

Mayer stopped by “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday to promote his new album, “Born and Raised”, when he let it slip that sometimes, he really isn’t that lucky with the ladies:

I met this girl not long ago, and I was trying to impress her and she had Fifty Shades of Grey on the Kindle and I said, I m gonna sing it to you, …And so, I sang one of the pages of Fifty Shades of Grey. 

So what happened?  Apparently, it didn’t work out as well as Mayer would have hoped…

She fell. She fell to the ground laughing and I think that was the only way I could make her laugh…I sold out, completely…She didn t really get it though, Like, I m not singing for a year and I just sang you Fifty Shades of Grey, 

Mayer will be forced to take a year off from singing, due to a surgery and follow up treatment to fix a condition in his throat.

So the question remains…what would happen if he had just sung a page from “Twilight” instead?
