Marvel’s Possible GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Plot Revealed

Marvel has revealed a small synopsis for it's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY.

At San Diego Comic Con in July, Marvel revealed the next films in the works over the next 3 years, including GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. GUARDIANS is not expected to hit theaters for another 2 years but was thought to be the first introduction of a handful of characters in the marvel lexicon; including Thanos who was revealed to be the next major villain in the post credits scene during THE AVENGERS. Now we have a plot synopsis for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY via Production Weekly, ”

It reads: “A US pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants.”

Mind you, this may seem like Greek to you!  But rest assured, by the time this film comes out, the buzz will be so big it will be as though we all should know and be excited about it! Because the fan base for the Marvel comics is so huge, the incredibly detailed characters have become a big part of mainstream pop culture.

For those of you not familiar with the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, they are a team of space traveling heroes who have taken the job of protecting the galaxy from intruders. Led by Star Lord aka Peter Quill, the team is made up of Rocket Racoon, a talking racoon who has a love for explosives, Drax the Destroyer, a human resurrected as a green warrior with the sole purpose of killing Thanos. As well as Groot, a giant tree monster, and finally Gamora, the last of her kind who was saved by Thanos as a child and turned into an assassin to do his bidding and is now fighting against him.

If this all sounds like a foreign language, then here is a quick lesson in the Marvel universe. Thanos is one of the largest villains, he is the guy who after gaining certain powers becomes god like and sets out to do 2 things, destroy all the superheros for world domination and in his most popular comic book series he courts the female personification of death. Meaning he is trying to impress death who appears to him in female form. Which explains the interesting word play used in the ending credits of the avengers. For a look at thanos and those ending credits, mMarvel recently posted that scene below.
