DreamWorks Animation Announces Insane 12 Film Slate

DreamWorks Animation studios has announced an unprecedented 12 films to be produced and released within the next 3 years.

DreamWorks Animation has brought us such classic films as SHREK, ANTZ, HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, MADAGASCAR and KUNG FOO PANDA.  And now, we are about to be getting a lot more…

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that DreamWorks Animation is planning on releasing twelve new movies (yes TWELVE) between now and 2016 (That is an epic three films per year!)

The announcement is unprecedented for an animation studio, especially for DreamWorks who is known for kicking out two movies a year, with a total of seven since 2009 (not including THE GUARDIANS, which hits theaters in November). Thanks to the studio’s recent success and news that they are teaming up with Fox Animation, it’ll give them a real chance to stand up to the rest of the animation world, including Pixar.

Included in the ambitious rundown are two sequels to HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, a MADAGASCAR spin-off entitled PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR, and B.O.O: BUREAU OF OTHERWORLDLY OPERATIONS.  You can check out the list of all 12 films below.
