Madonna Strips In Tribute To 14 Year Old Shot By Taliban

Madonna’s no stranger to nudity, but this time, her public striptease revealed body art honoring a 14 year old girl shot for speaking her mind.

During every stop of her MDNA Tour, Madonna reveals body art on her back. On separate occasions she revealed the word “OBAMA” and “PUSSY RIOT” during separate shows. She reveals the political statements during a striptease. (Surprise.)

Last week in Los Angeles, Madonna got serious about an emotional story. The Hollywood Reporter reports Madonna’s onstage speech: “The 14-year-old schoolgirl who wrote a blog about going to school. The Taliban stopped her bus and shot her. Do you realize how sick that is?”

Malala Yousafzai is the 14-year-old Pakistani girl Madonna is referring to. She had become known for campaigning for girls’ rights to education. Since the incident, she remains in a coma. The Taliban has said that they will eventually kill Yousafzai, even if she does survive the initial shooting.

When it was time for the nightly striptease, Madonna revealed the girl’s name: “MALALA” on her back.

Some critics have argued that Madonna is using the story to garner more headlines for herself by including it in her striptease, citing that a striptease in of itself, (let alone one to honor a teenager) is nothing more than an attention geting device, and that using this sad event to get buzz is in poor taste.
