Natalie Portman In Talks To Play Jacqueline Kennedy In New BioPic

Is Natalie Portman about to play a President’s wife? 

Deadline is reporting that the 31-year-old actress is in talks to star in Fox Searchlight’s JACKIE, a biopic chronicling the life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

Written by Noah Oppenheim, the film would tell the story of the former First Lady in the days immediately following President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.  Portman is reportedly intrigued by the script, but will not officially sign on until a director is chosen. 

Portman’s BLACK SWAN director, Darren Aronofsky, was originally attached to direct with his ex-wife, Rachel Weisz, starring back in 2010.  No word on who is on the short list for the job this time around.
