Lindsay LohanIn an effort to improve her image before her next court heraing, Lindsay Lohan is reportedly trying mentor underpriveleged girls. Bite your tongue! I know what you’re thinking. But in fact, the charity is reaching out to HER.

According to US Weekly, Lohan is putting out feelers to the Baby & I Foundation to help with a program at Trinity Athletics – a gym where underprivileged girls can get scholarships to learn to tumble and cheer in Johns Creek, Georgia.

If this is in fact about polishing up her courtroom image, she’s going to have to act pretty fast. Lohan is due in court March 18 to face three charges, including lying to police about her involvement in a car accident.

According to OMG! :

Kourtney Calano, the founder of the Baby & I Foundation in Atlanta, tells omg! exclusively that after Lohan generously gifted her charity with $50,000 in 2011, she reached out to the actress’ team “about mentoring young girls at a nearby gym, where the owner has given a lot of her cheerleading hopefuls free grants to be able to cheer and follow their dreams, some even Olympic hopefuls. This is something that is still in the working stages, where Lindsay will be a possible mentor to these young girls for a day to uplift them and let them know she too has struggled and overcome so much adversity in life.”

Trinity Athletics owner Cori Davenport tells omg!. “I believe everyone deserves a second chance, and everyone makes mistakes. I applaud Ms. Lohan for wanting to make a difference in people’s lives, especially young girls so they don’t take the same road she has.”

Lohan’s latest lawyer is also biding for some time – he recently filed court documents asking the judge to “slow track” the case – noting that Lohan is “pursuing and participating in certain activities, which will benefit her and afford her more of an opportunity to be a productive and responsible person and contributor to society.”

Slowing down the case could have some other effects, since the judge in the case, Stephanie Sautner, is due to retire on April 5 – and could lead to the actress having to answer to a different judge entirely..

Let’s hope Lohan does have good intentions and that both the girls and Lohan herself can benefit from the experience!
