view9n-1-webLast week, Joy Behar revealed that she would be leaving “The View” for good.  The news caused the internet to whip into a frenzy, and within minutes, we had rumors that both Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Barbara Walters would be next.

This morning, however, “View” host and creator Walters put all those fears of flying the coup to rest, reassuring her viewers that both she and Hasselback were going nowhere.

The legendary host and journalist told her audience:

“On a more a serious note, there’s a particularly false story about Elisabeth’s alleged departure that’s getting picked up. Truth is we love Elisabeth. We value and appreciate her point of view…We have no plans for Elisabeth to leave this show.”

While Hasselbeck and Walters will be staying put, Behar said that she just feels like the time is right to persue other options:

“It seemed like the right time…You reach a point when you say to yourself, ‘Do I want to keep doing this?’ There are other things on my plate I want to do — I’ve been writing a play, I’ve been neglecting my stand-up.”

Behar says that she’ll make her final exit when her contract is up at the end of the summer.
