After the massacre that ensued on last week’s season finale of “The Walking Dead”, fans were left breathlessly asking for any hint of what would happen to their favorite remaining characters.

AMC has now confirmed that four season three characters will be upped to series regulars for next season.  Among the lucky-to-be-alive group are season three newcomers David Morrissey (The Governor), Chad Coleman (the reasonable Tyreese), and Sonequa Martin-Green (Tyreese’s sister, Sasha), as well as season two alum Emily Kinney (Beth Greene).

So while the details may be slim to none, it’s safe to say that the Governor will be back in a massive and prominent way next season, despite failed attempts to take back his prison.

And something tells me that with him around, a lot of upcoming deaths will have nothing to do with zombies…

“The Walking Dead” is expected to return to AMC in October.
