NOSTALGIA NEWS: ‘Clarissa Explains It All’ Again With Reboot!

I am breaking the fourth wall and speaking directly to you reader….yes you….unsettling isn’t it? Well that’s probably because I am not as good at it as Clarissa Darling was back on Clarissa Explains It All. Melissa Joan Hart brought the bubbly, inquisitive, quirky teen to life in the 90’s hit Nickelodeon show, and is credited with being the network’s first successful, female lead. The show featured wholesome parents, an annoyingly competitive, younger brother, and your normal, teenage growing pains. Oh and there was the cute, neighbor boy who would use a ladder to climb into Clarissa’s open window at any given moment. Perhaps that last addition will be altered for the reboot, considering it’s 2018 and sneaking into girl’s bedrooms is much more frowned upon. Did I just say reboot?  Yes reader, as I tear down this fourth wall once more, I did just say reboot! Hart, who has grown to co-lead her own production company along with her mother, will be spearheading and producing the reboot of the hit classic. In an interview with THR, Hart discussed the reboot of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, a show in which she starred in post Clarissa, and mentioned that she was content with how her version ended. She then went on to say that she never felt like Clarissa had the same finite ending and could be explored once more. Series creator, Mitchell Kriegman will be back as executive producer and writer of the reboot, which should help preserve the shows essence, while igniting new interest. Plot, network and casting details are still in the works, but I think it’s safe to say we are all going to dial up our clear, plastic phones and alert our besties asap!
