How can anyone forget the glittery gowns, the voluminous hair-do’s, or the vocal ranges of The Supremes? You can’t! But this isn’t about those Supremes, this about the magical Supremes over on American Horror Story! As season 8 rapidly approaches, more details have been revealed about the upcoming plot and it’s characters. We now know the this season be entitled Apocalypse, but more importantly it will act as a crossover between season 1’s Murder House and season 3’s Coven. It was recently announced that all of the Coven witches have been invited back, but today, we finally got confirmation that Jessica Lange will make her long-awaited return to the series.
In Coven, Lange’s character, Fiona Goode, was last seen trapped in a hell where she was forced to spend eternity with a deranged Axeman. Because Goode needed to die in order for the next “Supreme” to reach her full potential, Lange will not be reprising her role as Goode. Instead Lange is returning as Constance Langdon, the nosy neighbor to the Murder House in season 1. When last we saw Langdon, she had adopted the satanic baby that was spawned from a disturbing sexual encounter between a ghost and the living. We can assume that the baby will be much older now, and much more powerful.
Other confirmed cast members include Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Adina Porter, Emma Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman and Billie Lourd. In addition to the already star studded cast, Joan Collins will be added to the roster.
While season 8 is tackling the end of the world, the show has been renewed for at least 2 more seasons. American Horror Story: Apocalypse premieres September 12 on FX.
