How Much Are Fans Frustrated With M. Night? There’s a Campaign to Send Him Back to School…

Wow…I’m really starting to feel bad for M. Night Shyamalan.  Almost a decade ago, the man was declared the next Steven Spielberg or Alfred Hitchcock.  Then, every movie became worse and worse until THE LAST AIRBENDER swept the Razzies and there was a College Humor video called “No One Likes M. Night Shyamalan” (below)

How bad has it gotten, though?  Well now, three movie fans are trying to raise $150,000 to send Shyamalan back to film school.

Copywriter and author, Chris Baker, along with two friends, just fired up the site, “M. Night School” when news broke that Shyamalan was planning to direct his next film, 1000 A.E., with Will and Jaden Smith.

So far, around $520 has been raised (yes, sadly, people have actually donated), and while Baker knows that obviously Shyamalan will turn down the money, he still has a pretty funny scene in mind:

“We want to do a stunt where we present him with a giant check. Obviously, as he’s a multimillionaire, he’ll refuse it.”

Out of all this hurt, though, there is a noble backup plan for all the money: Hold a festival in New York for young filmmakers aspiring to attend NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. The winner will receive the money raised — as a scholarship in Shyamalan’s name.
