Nick Cannon Steps Down From Radio Show, Reveals Heart Problems In New Health Scare

Nick Cannon is officially leaving his radio morning show amidst new health scares.

Nick Cannon is officially leaving his radio morning show amidst new health scares.

According to The Washington Post, the 31-year-old actor will no longer be hosting “Rollin with Nick Cannon” on New York radio station 92.3 NOW.  Cannon said in a statement this morning:

“Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule…Even Superman has to sleep.”

Cannon revealed on the show Wednesday that he was hospitalized over the weekend after blood clots were discovered in his lungs. Doctors also found out a ventricle in his heart was enlarged:

“My doctor was saying that my work is going to kill me—and he’s not joking…I think part of the reason why my health did kind of deteriorate was because I wasn’t resting a lot and I was doing too much. I was overworking myself, working out too much.”

Cannon was hospitalized in early January during a vacation in Colorado for “mild kidney failure.”  He will continue to work on his syndicated show, “Cannon’s Countdown,” as well as host “America’s Got Talent”.
