Ed Asner Rushed To The Hospital Yesterday After Appearing Disoriented On Stage
Legendary television star Ed Asner was rushed to the hospital yesterday after suffering a medical emergency on stage.
According to SunTimes.com, the 83-year-old actor was fifteen minutes into his one-man show, “FDR”, near Gary, Indiana yesterday, when crew members noticed him disoriented and struggling with his lines.
Asner was soon escorted off the stage and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Early this morning, the actor’s son, Matt, told TMZ that his father was doing fine:
“He is resting now at an Indiana hospital and is doing well and very grumpy, which with him is always a good thing…He is being assessed right now and what I can say is that it was not a stroke. That much we do know.”
Matt confirmed that his despite wanting to get right back on stage, Asner may have to take some time to rest:
“He was feeling under the weather for a few weeks so he may just need some rest but for now he is just fine.”
The “Mary Tyler Moore Show” star is currently resting at a Chicago-area hospital. He is expected to be released later today.
Be strong Ed!!!
