He’s calling himself “Wanksy”and after some of his cyclist friends were injured in pothole related accidents, he decided to take action in a slightly perverse, somewhat awesome, but oddly definitely effective way.

He draws phalluses around them. Now most of them get filled within 48 hours.

According to the Manchester Evening News he uses a chalk that doesn’t erase too easily, but will fade within about a week.

A fan page has been set up on Facebook for the artist.

Yes, they are obscene, which is why folks are calling and reporting them, more than the actual potholes themselves, but it seems to be working. People are upset. I get it, you don’t want your kid asking what in the world they’re looking at, or worse yet, knowing what in the world they’re looking at.

But there you have it. Progress. Slightly wrong, slightly hilarious progress.
