After a career boost from Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice”, a freak brain hemmorage, and months of being careful and waiting, Bret Michaels’ finally had his surgery to repair the hole in his heart.ÂÂÂ
According to PopEater, a rep for the hospital called the newly engaged singer’s procedure very successful:
“Michaels is currently recuperating at St. Joseph’s where he remains for observation in ICU.”
Doctors found a hole in Michaels’ heart last May when he was hospitalized following a mini-stroke. The surgery to repair the hole was performed on Monday at Phoenix’s St. Joseph’s Hospital, near Michaels’ Scottsdale, Ariz., home.
No matter what, though, Michaels always seemed in good spirits about the operation, telling PEOPLE last year,
“It’s 95 percent unbelievably great results…Of course, there’s always the 5 percent risk at anything you do with this kind of thing and I’m hoping I’ll be in the 95 percent category…I’d say if everything goes well, I’ll spend about three days in the hospital and then about three weeks after that just really, really, really taking it easy.”
