THE HANGOVER PART II broke many records over the Memorial Day weekend, and took in bank. So what better way to celebrate than to already throw out plans for a third moneymaker?
According to Joblo.com, Craig Mazin, who is responsible for writing the current installment is now hired to write the third and final installment.
Side note: Mazin also wrote the scripts for SCARY MOVIE 3 & 4 as well as SUPERHERO MOVIE. Yeah…that makes sense now…
It’s also been revealed by Jamie Chung that Amsterdam will be the possible destination for THE HANGOVER 3. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she says:
“Probably Amsterdam. If you think of the coolest, craziest cities in the world, it would have to be Las Vegas, Bangkok and Amsterdam.”
For anyone nervous about how the heck our three main characters could have this happen to them yet again, Justin Bartha added that “Amsterdam could be a different kind of hangover. It could be fun. And Zach [Galifanakis] will probably already be there.”
I think the real question is will a HANGOVER III be worth it? HANGOVER II may have made bank (and probably will for a while), but the reviews have been pretty horrible all around (Read MY review and Nikki Cove’s review on this site for our views.) Could HANGOVER III redeem the franchise and make II our OCEAN’s 12, or will it just keep going downhill?
