SCARFACE Remake in the Works

And here we go again…

The next film to be getting the makeover treatment is the AL Pacino classic, SCARFACE.

According to Deadline, Universal Pictures is developing a new version, but is not intending for it to be a strict remake or sequel. Instead, the film will take the common elements of the first two films: “An outsider, an immigrant, barges his way into the criminal establishment in pursuit of a twisted version of the American dream, becoming a kingpin through a campaign of ruthlessness and violent ambition.”

No word on where the new Tony will come from, or what his origin will be, but the real question is, do YOU think a new SCARFACE is necessary?
