THE KARATE KID was one of those kids movies that was a staple of our generation. Well now, we are being given a hell of a treat in the form of the full classic movie cut together with only rehearsal footage.
Here’s the deal: way back when in 1983, director John G. Avildsen shot THE KARATE KID rehearsals in its entirety. He then edited all that footage together for the cast so the actors could see the process as well as the set up for the real filming.
According to JoBlo, the footage, which includes cut scenes as well as descriptions from Avildsen, himself, was added over a year ago, but has only had a handful of hits. Check out the first part below, and the whole thing on Avildsen’s YouTube channel.
