Fresh off the heels of talks about bringing PSYCHO to the television screen, NBC has officially ordered thirteen episodes of “Hannibal,” a new drama focusing on the life of your favorite Cannibalistic killer.

According to Worst Previews, the new series is described as “an hour-long contemporary thriller that revolves around FBI agent Will Graham and his mentor, Dr. Hannibal Lecter.” Produced by Byran Fuller (“Pushing Daisies”), it will be considered a prequel to the film franchise and take place before the events of RED DRAGON and MANHUNTER.

So you tell us…is it a good choice to revisit old, classic characters and try to get some depth from their pasts, or should we just let it all be, and focus on some new characters and story lines…a la “Revenge”?
