Sheryl Crow has revealed that she has been diagnosed with a benign brain tumor.

Crow’s rep confirmed the story to E! News, today, saying that Crow has a common form of brain tumor called a meningioma,

The singer first announced the infliction during an interview last night with Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Doug Elfman, saying,

“I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumor…And I was, like, ‘See? I knew there was something wrong…I haven’t really talked about it…But it’s benign, so I don’t have to worry about it. But it gives me a fit.”

The news comes less than four months after Crow messed up the lyrics to her massive hit, “Soak Up the Sun”, at a Florida concert.  At the time, she yelled to the crowd, “I’m 50, what can I say? My brain’s gone to [expletive].”

Luckily, Crow’s rep says that the type of tumor is very common, and that Crow is happy and healthy:

“Half of us are walking around with [meningioma] but you don’t really know unless you happen to have an MRI…[Crow] has no symptoms and everything is fine. It was a random mention during the [Vegas] interview. It was not meant to alarm anyone. She is doing great and is healthy and happy.”

Crow is also a breast cancer survivor, beating the disease back in 2006.
