MSNBC is reporting that the hit singing show has recruited a number of new mentors for its third season, including Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, Matchbox Twenty lead Rob Thomas, Michael Buble, and Mary J. Blige!

The show’s staff tweeted out the news about Armstrong late Thursday night, saying:

“Welcome Billie Joe (@BJAofficial) to #TeamXtina! We are ready to rock out in Season 3.”

As for the other three mentors, Rob Thomas will be attached to Cee Lo Green’s team, Mary J. Blige will be the right hand of Adam Levine, and Michael Buble will be throwing his hat behind Blake Shelton’s team.

Armstrong started taping Wednesday on “The Voice,” which has been in production since June.
