“Big Bang Theory” Star Mayim Bialik Injured In Car Accident

Mayim Bialik is in the hospital this morning after being injured in a car crash last night in Los Angeles.

MSNBC is reporting that “The Big Bang Theory” star’s Volvo was struck at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and LaBrea Avenue.  An LAPD spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter that a vehicle with three tourists going north on LaBrea made a left turn in front of Bialik’s car.

Bialik sustained severe lacerations to her left hand and thumb and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Sources tell THR that the “Blossom” actress is “doing OK”, and a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Television said the incident is not expected to impact production on the series, which began filming last week.

Bialik’s husband tweeted for her a few hours after the crash, reassuring fans that she was doing okay:

“(husband typing) In pain but will keep all my fingers. If u wanna See pre accident me watch The Soup tonight lol #joelmchale @thesoup”
