The LAPD is investigating a series of Twitter death threats and phone calls to the L.A. Film Festival, all targeting JUNO actress Ellen Page.

A warrant obtained by the L.A. Times states that organizers of the L.A. Film Festival received anonymous calls from someone threatening to kill Page. Those calls coincide with a number of twitter messages found online, one of which says straight out:  “I’m going to murder Ellen Page. She’s dead.”

Page’s management team alerted Twitter and police as soon as they became aware of the threats. A spokeswoman for the LAPD said that detectives began investigating the messages in June, including getting a search warrant to trace the Twitter account, but would not disclose any other details.

Page is currently filming the drama TOUCHY FEELY, with Rosemarie DeWitt and JUNO costar Allison Janney.
