Shia LaBeouf Really Dropped Acid, Drank Moonshine For Upcoming Movies

In a new interview with USA Today, the 26-year-old actor revealed that in preparation for an acid-dropping scene in his upcoming crime comedy THE NECESSARY DEATH OF CHARLIE COUNTRYMAN, he actually got high:

“There’s a way to do an acid trip like “Harold & Kumar,” and there’s a way to be on acid…What I know of acting, Sean Penn actually strapped up to that (electric) chair in ‘Dead Man Walking.’ These are the guys that I look up to.”

But that’s not all…LaBeouf also admitted that with the permission of director John Hillcoat, he got drunk on moonshine while filming certain scenes for his new film, LAWLESS:

“He says go off for five minutes through the woods and get there…It took away a lot of my inhibitions, just made it easy to actually be in the scene, and in the moment.”

So why would LaBeouf do such things, not to mention go fully nude in a music video and have real sex in Lars Von Trier’s NYMPHOMANIAC?

“I don’t know what’s going to be asked of me…But I’m willing to do whatever is asked of me to get closer to the truth that’s on the page.”
