Gene Simmons’ Daughter And “X Factor” Contestant Accuses Show Of Drastically Editing Clips For More Drama
Is “The X Factor” editing the real-life interactions of its contestants to squeeze out more drama? One famous contestant seems to think so…
Sophie Tweed-Simmons, the daughter of KISS bandmate Gene Simmons, is one of the many finalists on the show’s new season, and if you were a casual viewer watching Wednesday night’s episode, you would think that she and fellow contestant, Tara Simon, were not fans of each other. During Tara’s performance of Queen’s “Somebody to Love”, cameras cut away to Sophie, who looked less than thrilled with the performance taking place in front of her.
However, during the show’s East Coast airing, Sophie took to Twitter to dismantle the supposed drama, writing, “Wow editing…FYI @tarasimonsings and I were never in a cat fight. At least not that we knew of.”
Sophie later added that not only was there no bad blood between her and Tara, but no bad blood between basically any of the competitors:
“To set the record straight…all the contestants were like brother and sister we love each other so much. I hope they show that aspect of it.”
The same controversy took place last week between the two. While footage showed Tara complaining backstage about Sophie, shortly after the show aired, Tara wrote to Sophie on Twitter:
“Girl, they spliced my convo with that girl together and totally twisted what I said. Such crap. Love you girl, youre great.”
