Scarlett Johansson Attached to CAPTAIN AMERICA Sequel, Five Testing for Love Interest Role
It seems like Peggy Carter will no longer be the only woman in Cap’s life!
Joblo is reporting that the list of love interests for Steve Rogers in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER has been narrowed down to five actresses:
On the short list is Emilia Clarke (“Game of Thrones”), Jessica Brown Findlay (“Downton Abbey”), Imogen Poots, Alison Brie and Teresa Palmer. No official word on who the female lead will be, but many are speculating that it must be the only woman in the WINTER SOLDIER storyline, Sharon Carter–a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and distant relative of Peggy. (Imagine Caps saying “I dated your grand-aunt’…ewww)
Some believe Brie actually has a leg up on the competition due to the fact that directors Joe and Anthony Russo are the Executive Producers on “Community”. I personally would like to see Brie in the role as well, but my pick would be Emilia Clark. She has become the face of HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” and has never appeared in anything in the US other than the show…
And what would a Marvel movie be without some sort of crossover? Sources are also saying that Scarlett Johansson will show up at some point as Black Widow, and has a “special interest” in him this time around…
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER will be the third film released in Marvel’s Phase II. It’ll hit theaters on April 4th, 2014.
