Worst Previews is reporting that the controversial actor and comedian is in talks to star as the main human in Disney’s THE MUPPETS 2!
No word on Gervais’ decision, but if he does accept the role, he’ll be joining “Modern Family” star Ty Burrell and original MUPPETS director James Bobin.
Something tells me a Gervais filled Muppets adventure would be nothing short of awesome, but I doubt any of his humor or wit will be allowed in such a G-rated production. If Jason Segal, the man who went full frontal in FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, turned into the perfect boy next door, one has to wonder how far Gervais will go.
