VIDEO: Watch The Test Reel For Live Action HONG KONG PHOOEY and MARVIN THE MARTIAN Movies

After the recent onslaught of live action movies featuring CGI cartoon characters (SMURFS, YOGI BEAR, ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS), I gotta ask…do we really need any more fake furry friends interacting with humans?

(I hope your answer is no as well…)

Even so, that will not stop Hollywood on their quest to give every famous cartoon from the 50s to the 80s their own movie, and today, we have for you a test reel for what live action versions of Marvin the Martian and Hong Kong Phooey would look like if they had gotten into the wrong hands.

Granted, these projects are still in limbo with their respective studios (and seeing as how Hong Kong Phooey is voiced by Eddie Murphy, something tells me producers aren’t exactly ready to give up on that one just yet), so you never know…they could still see the light of day.

In the meantime, take a look and enjoy what two of your other favorite Saturday morning friends would look like if they were able to jump off your television screen. 

And who knew Marvin was such a meanie…
