Blake Shelton Moves Mountains To Organize Benefit For Oklahoma Tornado Victims

Blake SheltonCountry star Blake Shelton, who was born and raised in Ada, Oklahoma, is rushing to the rescue of the recent tornado victims by organizing and performing at the upcoming Healing in the Heartland benefit concert – which airs on NBC this Wednesday. The lineup already includes Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire and Vince Gill, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts and Ryan Tedder from One Republic. Shelton was reportedly instrumental in getting the event off the ground.

You can’t imagine how many small miracles it takes to turn around such a huge event in such a short time. Just coordinating all the schedules of all the acts, getting their specific band and audio engineering needs set up and producing a seamless lineup and finding a place for all these people to stay is a seemingly insurmountable task. It’s amazing that producers always seem to pull it off!

The benefit concert sold out in an astounding 30 seconds when tickets went on sale. It will air live from Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City on Wednesday night at 8PM ET on NBC, and their sister cable networks Style, G4, E!, Bravo and CMT.

The money raised from the event will go to the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund.
