POP SNAPSHOTS: Girl Takes “Selfie” While Storming Baseball Field.
There is a new expression that has been born out of social media. It’s no uncommon for facebook friends and twitter followers to say “If there’s no photo, it didn’t happen.” This probably explains why three young women from Omaha, Nebraska decided to storm a baseball game – taking their own photos along the way.
Kayleigh Hill took to twitter before the College World Series, telling her followers that if they were all willing to help chip in the 1,500 dollars she expected to be fined for storming the game, she and her friends Emily and Torrie would run on the field. It’s unclear as to whether she actually got the money in advance. (The tweet itself was later deleted.)
If she didn’t get the money, that didn’t stop her. Her decision had been made, and she told her followers just when it was going to happen. Here are how her tweets played out: (her tweets are now protected from public view.)
