I’m a huge Tom Hanks fan, and to be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who DOESN’T like the man. When you have a resume that includes BIG, PHILADEPHIA, THAT THING YOU DO, CAST AWAY, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, and a dozen other great films, you can’t go wrong.
And now, after a bit of a dry spell for Mr. Hanks (in the last few years, we’ve seen two Robert Langdon movies and a cameo in his son’s THE GREAT BUCK HOWARD), we get a return to form with his second directorial project, LARRY CROWNE.
The trailer was released yesterday, and while it may not seem like anything too crazy, it definitely is a return to form for Tom Hanks (and Julia Roberts is there, too!)
The official synopsis: When he’s downsized from his job, Larry Crowne (Tom Hanks) decides to reinvent himself by enrolling in college, where he forms some unexpected bondswith fellow students, while also catching the eye of Mercedes Tainot, a female professor played by Julia Roberts.
