After a jaw dropping performance at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night, side by side comparisons of Beyonce’s act and a 2010 performance by Italian pop star Lorella Cuccarini show some remarkable similarities. (Scroll down for the video…)
Both performances feature solo artists in front of a white screen, by amazing graphics, enormous wings, and an army of the artist dancing in unison. That’s not where the similarities end.

Was it simply an inspiration? Or outright copying? Important to note that they reportedly used the same graphic designer, Kenzo Digital.
Check out the side by side video comparisons below… does it matter?
I’ll go ahead and say that Beyonce’s performance was hands down better, and we can expect a LOT of artists to begin copying the style on their own. As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and the imitations are going to come pouring in…
But really – doesn’t the blame go to Kenzo digital? Did you have to just do the same things with slightly better graphics? In the year that has passed… couldn’t you have done something entirely new but equally brilliant? Then no one would be having this discussion!
