Controversial and often considered troubled British singer Amy Jade Winehouse (born 14 September 1983) has been found dead in her London home. She was 27.
The Daily Mail, the BBC and Sky News are reporting that the Grammy-winning singer was found by emergency services on Saturday afternoon.
Metropolitan Police released the following statement:”Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased.”
Even at her young age, Winehouse already had a reputation for her struggles with addiction. Her hot song “rehab” offered a commentary on her reluctance to enter such a facility (she ultimately did.) It became an award winning hit that brought her worldwide success.
