Shia LaBeouf may be one of the best actors of his generation, but damn, the guy has no sense when it comes to picking roles.
In an interview with Details magazine, LaBeouf said that he passed on a bunch of huge films and Oscar nominees, including 127 HOURS, THE SOCIAL NETWORK, RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, and THE BOURNE LEGACY. He was actually in talks for LEGACY, but walked away after realizing he didn’t want to do another action movie.
The TRANSFORMERS star said he was looking for a “game changer”, and wasn’t convinced any of them were big enough for him:
“I am trying to impress myself. I have yet to do it…I’m looking for Warren Beatty-type game changers.”
Dude! You had two Oscar nominated scripts right there, and two huge franchises! Forget TRANSFORMERS and EAGLE EYE, and change your viewpoint a little!
TRANSFORMERS 3 is in theaters now. Shia LaBeouf will be nominated for an Oscar hopefully when he hires someone to choose his movies for him.
