Good news coming out of “The Biggest Loser” camp today. Sam Poueu, a former contestant of the show, is out of the ICU after a four-story fall off the roof of a San Francisco building.
According to E! Online, the 25-year-old security guard had to undergo three surgeries to treat internal injuries and head trauma. In a statement to People, his family and the family of his fiancée, Stephanie Anderson, said that Poueu is in stable condition:
“We are excited to share that Sam is out of ICU and is currently in stable condition…He still has a long road of recovery ahead of him, but we are so encouraged by the progress he continues to make daily. He is talking and visiting with family members and close friends who come to see him in the hospital, and is so grateful, as are we, for all the love, suport and prayers he has received.”
Poueu, who is now working as a trainer at the Biggest Loser Fitness Ridge Resort in Malibu, was a contestant on season nine.
The injury took place on September 3rd. Poueu climbed to the roof after attending a friend’s birthday party, when the door locked behind him. He tried to climb down a fire-escape ladder but lost his footing.
